I presume you meant "a sentence or two about what Asheesh is doing".
That's a sensible thing to ask for!
I'm less excited about promising what the future holds. If we had a
solid plan for the next year, I might be more willing to do that,
although in general it seems fraught! So I won't offer any specific text
suggestions for that.
I'd also prefer to emphasize "the organization" and our community rather
than me personally.

So, at the risk of sounding kind of absurdist, I would say the point of
the post is mostly the announcement of the donations we have received,
rather than to strongly and effectively encourage people to donate.
Mike, let me know if you agree.
Given that, but given that it does end with a call for donations, maybe
we could change the last paragraph from:
"Won't you join these pioneering supporters?"
to:
"In the time since last August, we've been able to be very active. For
example, OpenHatch has deployed new features to the web app and
organized three <a href="http://campus.openhatch.org/">Open Source Comes
to Campus</a> events and is organizing more for the fall, incorporated
and applied for non-profit status, and inspired and helped tech groups
to become more newcomer-friendly and gender diverse. Subscribe to our <a
href="http://lists.openhatch.org/mailman/listinfo/announce">monthly
newsletter</a> to stay in touch.
Won't you <a href="https://openhatch.org/donate/">join our pioneering
supporters</a>?"
