What I would recommend is making an open subscription mailing list
for people interested in planning it, and to have an in-person discussion
among people interested in being the lead planners.

I don't know if the Boston Python Workshop grant can still be of use
here, but even if not, the Python Software Foundation Outreach+Education
committee might be able to provide separate funding.

I'm glad you found space! By IRC you mentioned that it'd be some
cost to use it; maybe we can help you find another such space.

How about we make cpw-staff at lists.openhatch.org, add you, me, and
Jessica, and we make the archive open for now, and we get other ChiPy
people to join per your invitation, and we discuss more there?

Jessica, does that make sense to you? So far the staff lists have been
private-subscription, but in the early planning stages I'd love for the
list to be public. If so, I can go create it.

Yes! I assume you're talking about the open source comes to campus
workshops; I can see if we can get Chicago on the tour for the fall.
U Chicago is a likely great candidate.
