[Ccsf-campus-staff] checking in

Hi everyone,

1) I've created a spreadsheet for suggestions to improve the next iteration
of this workshop:

        http://tinyurl.com/ImproveTake2

...please add to this at any point, but especially as the workshop is
happening.

I created a tinyurl because I'll be sharing it with attendees too. This is
the 2nd iteration of OSCTC at CCSF, and ideally I'd like to see this become
annual or semesterly event, eventually building an active group of open
source contributors within our Linux Users Group.

2) Also created 'To Do - Day Of' document that anyone can add to, but
really for me to remember the little details:

https://docs.google.com/a/mail.ccsf.edu/document/d/18VJTEeKIlCSVoNnkNB0eAn_UMan9X2WfNf87CdHHPok/edit

3) Who is taking the remaining presentation slots:
-- irc intro / practice session (again, this just needs to be paced
slowly and have some repetition to it for the newbies)
-- how to find open source projects (this could be a quick question
that all mentors answer)

4) I was wrong about the needed connections for the presenter laptops. I
went and reviewed the room A/V yesterday, the projection has a VGA
connection as well as the regular mini jack audio.

For those presenting, does your laptop have a VGA port? If not, let me
know what OS and what port it has (HDMI, etc).

5) Screencapture recording & audio: for those presenting the irc (?),
communication tools (Maria), and git/GitHub (Veronica) sessions, we'd like
to record these presentations. Depending on your O/S, these are the
options we've used previously:

    for Macs: http://acomp.stanford.edu/tutorials/screen_recordings
    for PCs or Linux: http://obsproject.com

...the audio would just be captured with a USB headset mic. Let me know if
you have trouble setting up OBS. Art Wong who set it up for us last time
will be on site Saturday by 8:30am, and can help troubleshoot anyone's
installation.

6) Nametags or no nametags? If nametags, nametags for just the mentors (in
order to distinguish them quickly for attendees), or nametags for everyone?

7) For anyone who can stay after breakdown at 6pm, we'll be heading to a
little Chinese restaurant down the street -- Emmy's
http://emmyschinese.net/-- mentor dinner on us.
