[WMF-outreach-staff] Dear local team: IRC-related network oddities?

I would like to know if the GWU network employs any sort of port-blocking 
that would make IRC clients not work.

The first section of 
http://wikimania2012.wikimedia.org/wiki/Hackathon/Laptop_setup has the IRC 
setup instructions that we'll ask people to go through. I'd like to know 
sooner rather than later if we have to make adjustments due to local 
network oddities.
