Hi Shauna,
I'm getting caught up on emails. : )
I've considered this, and because I don't work professionally in open
source, so I don't think I would be good for the career panel. There
are instances where I've seen how using proprietary software has been
detrimental to my job, though, and so I could be on the panel as a
"reasons to avoid working with proprietary software" person if we need
more people.

mentors lead small groups of students contributing to specific projects
while other mentors float & help.
That said, we need someone to introduce the activity. I think it would
also be great if you could demonstrate to students how to:
- pick a project
- find out information about it and evaluate it
- make contact with the community
- try and find an issue to work on
If you feel comfy doing that, we can go over what would be involved.

I'd be happy to have MediaGoblin be something to work on at the event.
