About Mentors
|
|
What is this list for?
This list is for people are interested in mentoring at Open Source Comes to Campus (OSCTC) events. It is an announce-only list that will average at most 1-2 posts per month. If you're interested in hearing about upcoming events so that you can volunteer, please join.
Can you tell me more about OSCTC mentors?
Sure. We're looking for people to help mentor attendees as they learn how to contribute to free/open source projects. Instructors with a variety of backgrounds are welcome: while it's great if you have tons of experience using git and setting up development environments, we're also looking for people who've been involved with open source as non-programmers, who know a bit about picking bugs and submitting patches, or who really like to talk about their experiences with open source.
Do I need to be invited to join this list?
Nope! Go ahead and subscribe yourself. :) We'll get a notification and send you a personal email saying hello. If you want to jump into the community, feel free to join us on IRC or contact us in other ways.
