Hey Peers,

I wanted to let you know about a website redesign that we've
been working on that just launched!

Subject: [OH-Dev] The site redesign is live

Hey all,

With major props to Karen for doing most of the work (in October 2011),
I'd like to announce a fairly major OpenHatch.org website redesign.

You can see it here:

     https://openhatch.org/

Key points:

* The front page no longer has tabs, so it's easier to see everything at
once

* The link to the training missions is called "training", not "missions"
(which was confusing to some people)

* New guide for project maintainers: http://openhatch.org/guide/

* Nav links for "projects" go to the volunteer opportunity finder
(/search/) rather than the long scrolling (and not useful) /projects/ page

* Since we are a non-profit, the front page makes this clear

* New "Getting involved" page <https://openhatch.org/wiki/Get_involved>
that explains how you can get involved with OpenHatch, geenerally

* New "Events" page, http://openhatch.org/events/ , that puts events front
and center

The goals of the redesign are, for me, not as much about changing the
visual look but about reorganizing the information we put on the
front page (and other pages) so that people have a beter sense of who
we are and what we do.

-- Asheesh.
