[pedagogy] Getting the party started: what are you teaching/about to teach

Hi there! I'm Barbara Shaurette, out in Austin, @PyLadiesATX and
@bshaurette
And I am teaching ALL THE THINGS.
Okay, not really, it just feels like that lately. :) Along with Katie
Cunningham, I did the Young Coders tutorials at PyCon. I also helped out
with a few of the adult women's workshops in Portland last summer, and next
weekend I'm leading my first 'Intro to Python' class for women here in
Austin.
I've also done some small Git/GitHub workshops - I just submitted a
proposal to teach that at SciPy 2013 here in June. And I'm teaching a
beginner Python class at PyTexas in August.
And I'm doing some outreach with a local elementary school here at the end
of April - I've only got an hour with 26 kids, I have no idea what I'm
going to teach them yet, but it will come together.
Finally, there may be more teaching of kids in the works - I'd like to take
the 'Young Coders' curriculum on the road and reach out to local kids' STEM
programs and elementary schools, but we're still working out financing (by
"we", I mean that Jesse Noller is working on it, and so is Van Lindberg,
via Rackspace, but it's too soon to know anything yet).
