Made a summary for myself of where things stand for the semester, and
thought I'd share it with you all.

*Stats*

*Contacting:*
Schools we contacted: 17
Schools we never heard back from: 3
Schools who contacted us: 4
Total: discussion with 18 of 21 schools

*Scheduling*
Schools definitely not doing an OSCTC event: 1
Schools with scheduled events: 5 confirmed, 2 unconfirmed
Schools leaning towards an event: 5
Schools I'm dubious about: 5

*The key #s:*
At least 5 events, like 7-12, as many as 18 still possible.

(Although 18 is terrifying and I am brainstorming alternatives (see below).

*Scheduled Events (details)*

The 5 scheduled events are:
- University of Arizona: Feb 8th
- University of Illinous Urbana Champagne: March 2nd
- Cornell University: March 15th
- CCSF: March 22nd
- George Mason University: April 19th

We're always looking for mentors so if you or someone you know lives near
one of those schools and wants to volunteer, let us know!

*Next steps*

- I'm going to try to confirm either way for the 10 toss up schools within
the next few weeks.

- I'm going to get to work on the support infrastructure (primarily
building up the openhatch-affiliated projects for the Contributions
Workshop, but also other things) to support the event.

- I want to come up with some sort of mini event (maybe based around
Practicing Git or the training missions or remote career panels) that
schools can do if either they or we lack the resources/time to do a full
event.

- I'm going to try to grow our network of volunteers.

As always, feedback is welcome.

- Shauna
