Before this year's LibrePlanet 2014 event, Deb Nicholson organized "the
inaugural SpinachCon".
Semi sorry for any brevity of this email, but I wanted to send
*something*before I forgot!
*Event advertising blurb*
Sometimes your favorite free software has a piece of spinach in its teeth,
and they need you to let them know.
Small to midsize projects need user-experience feedback. That's why I'm
inviting you to participate in SpinachCon on March 21, 2014, from 12:00 to
5:00pm EDT, at Industry Lab in Cambridge. It's the Friday before
LibrePlanet. If you're in town early, why not help us improve free software
user experiences? By providing feedback and constructive criticism for the
inaugural group of participating free software projects, you'll be helping
to build better free software!
(It already took place!)

Máirín Duffy's post (the last one) is a real gem. It has advice for how to
run the next event even more successfully, and you can see people trying
the user-testing goals in the comments.
*Next steps*
I'd love to see someone take this idea and work with Deb to make an
informational website specific to Spinachcon to help people run similar
events near them.
Or just run one near you. (-:
Don't hesitate to get in touch (start a thread here on Events, or email Deb
off-list) if you're excited about any of that. I'm sure Deb can say more
and give other ideas for next steps.
