Hi folks,
I've been talking with HubSpot about hosting the next Boston Python
Workshop, and they have been great. Here is what I know so far about
our options with HubSpot:
* They have space for us the weekend of May 7th (note that May 8th is
Mother's Day) and the weekend of May 14th
* They'll sponsor lunch
* They have a main room that seats 80 for us, with a projector, plus
breakout rooms that also have projectors
I'd like to get back to them in the next few days to confirm the event
dates. Let's have a staff meeting before then to square up a couple of
things. In particular:
* We should decide on a Friday + Saturday workshop versus a Saturday +
Sunday workshop
* We should decide on self-directed learning using Learn Python the
Hard Way versus a traditional lecture, which would influence the
structure of the workshop.
I made a Doodle poll: http://doodle.com/e8s62hgvb9fn4hib It has time
around lunch tomorrow, lunch and evening on Tuesday, and lunch and
evening on Wednesday to talk about these things. Please let me know
your availability on the poll, or just say your preferences here or
ping me somewhere and let me know.
As an aside, tomorrow evening Asheesh and I will be at a Boston Python
Meetup about Python, Education, and the Community!
http://meetup.bostonpython.com/events/17083319/ Some really great
people are lined up to talk about there experiences in this space,
including the author of How to Think Like A Computer Scientist. You
are all invited!
