Thanks for the patch, Shawn! But while we're at it, could you make it 
clear that it's necessary to use the gzip compression method? bzip2 is 
also not accepted, in my testing.

Also, maybe this is a bit much for this patch, but would it be helpful 
to add in some guidelines for naming the tarball file itself? It 
currently doesn't seem to do any checks there.
