One feature the buildout-based setup provides is that you can easily 
run your local OpenHatch site storing all data in an in-memory sqlite3 
database, which is extremely fast.

http://openhatch.org/wiki/Automated_testing refers to that.

We should make sure there is a reasonably easy way to do this with the 
new virtualenv-based setup.
