Hi Shauna,
I recently attended a Conference and most of the members of our group were there. I discussed the idea with them and all of them found the idea really interesting. Thing is, everyone is working towards 'Boilercode' - an event where high school girls can get involved in Computing and that is in the first week of April. And, after that, we just have several exams. I believe we would require more people to help with organizing to make the OpenHatch Event a success. Could we make this event happen in Fall 2015? I will definitely put in all my effort to make it work in Fall.
Also, I just want to clarify what exactly the OpenHatch event would be about. This is what I have understood - So, college students would be provided with software with the chance to modify it and work on projects. And, individuals with little experience would have workshops (maybe 2 hours?) to work on projects. Am I correct in understanding this? Also, would it be only for Purdue students?

You can pick pretty much any date. While I'll try to be available on the day of the event, experience has shown that I'm really, really not needed - most organizers don't ask me for any help at all. :) So, if you're interested, please pick a date that works well for you and your community.
