[Campus-purdue-staff] Flyer/media

I was also copied to the Actuarial Science undergrad list mailing. A professor from the statistics department recommended we include R; even though I don't know how many signups are from the math/stat/actuarial background, I think that could be a two-birds-one-stone deal. I know at least some of the chemistry department, and almost everyone who takes a statistics class, uses R to some degree.

Lauren, thanks again for sending those emails! We got bcc'd on four different mailing list emails, and we've got 11 more sign ups today, approximately doubling our sign ups, which is awesome.

Asheesh, lets make sure we have bugs on some/all of the open source projects that were mentioned in emails that actually went out to science/engineering lists.

Hi Lauren,

Thanks for sending those emails! I'm glad you like them - we've been working on improving our outreach to science and engineering students. :)

CCing the staff list/Asheesh since he'll handle getting the paperwork faxed.

I'm sorry for the silence: big project and some difficulty communicating with the business office that handles the org.

Those emails are incredible! I will send them immediately.

About GitHub: yes, let's do that if we can! I assume CSWN will still be responsible for the initial food order, since we have it set up? For the honorarium, we need the w-9 faxed to the Business Office of Student Organizations at 765-496-2208 -- if you have fax capabilities. I think we (CSWN) can handle everything else from there, but I'll let you know.

Hi Lauren,

Just wanted to make sure you got this email! Please let me know if you plan on sending the emails tomorrow (Monday) - if you can't, I will make sure to do it myself by the end of the work day.

Hi Lauren,

I've written eleven emails to various science departments at Purdue. I've collected the addresses they should be sent to as well, and written out custom subject lines. You can find them here:

If you don't feel up to sending them, let me know, and we'll take care of it, but we think it will work better coming from a student, and it shouldn't be too much work (maybe 10-15 minutes of copy/pasting.)

Hi Lauren,

The flyer looks great! Thanks for all your hard work on the publicity. Have all the lists on the publicity spreadsheet been pinged or are there some on there that still need contacting or following up on? Let us know how we can help.

I'm in the process of adding more contacts for more departments to the "science dept/publicity info" sheet. If you want, I can contact them, or if you'd prefer to send the emails that works as well.

Hi all,

I attach some flyer candidates as well as campus maps, including an image that shows the approximate location of the room we'll be in (the Lilly building is big and complicated). I can also send along "blank" flyers (without the Purdue stuff, etc. for future events) if we like the look enough. I used some text from your main site; I hope this is all right. If not, it's an easy edit.

More list-pings today and tomorrow, and working on the general science department list names.
