[Campus-hartnell-staff] following up with specific students

Sorry about the delay…!

There were several students who were working on Merge Stories with me. Everyone was able to check code out and get the site running locally, which was awesome. We lost some people after that though, I think in part because I was trying to understand the structure of the codebase in realtime with them. So I talked a little bit about some strategies for figuring out where to find certain things, and most students in my group spent the rest of the time pawing through code and just trying to understand how things worked. (I also think it was a little bit challenging for me to try and quickly explain to them how Pelican was generating pages from a database and so forth, but also it was a cool learning opportunity since so many sites are built this way.) Anyway, probably more than you wanted to know about that ;)

So the one bug in particular that we wound up focusing on was the one I’d commented on on Github and I think the main student working with me was Anita Garcia (AnitaGarcia819 on Github). If you guys do end up doing some sort of hangout thing, I’d actually love to join! I’ve done lots of web stuff before, but never with themes that I was trying to code around so it’d be cool to see the resolution… or if I’m unable to join you, I’ll just go sneak a peek at the code once this bug is resolved :)
