[Events] Gearing up for WMF Hackathon exit survey

Hi everyone,

Perhaps the flow of questions could be slightly changed. I am not sure whether there is a need for an extra section in the end entitled 'Feedback on the workshop as a whole' since the first section: 'About you and your experience' has already questions about the workshop. As a result, the survey starts with questions related to the workshop (e.g. What was your favorite part of the workshop?), then moves to questions about future participations, and then comes back to workshop-related questions (e.g If a friend or colleague heard about an OpenHatch led hackathon, how likely is it that you would recommend them to attend?).

Two sections (in addition of the demographics in the end as suggested by Nick), would perhaps be enough:
1- Feedback about workshop
2- Future participation

The survey is not that long, so two sections is I think enough.

Speaking about more specific questions, it seems important, in addition to the positive aspects of the workshops, to ask about the negative ones (which will help to keep improving). Questions such as: What was your least favourite part(s) of the workshop? Why? What could be improved in this workshop? How would you improve the workshop?, could help.

It could even be more efficient to ask feedback questions about specific aspects of the workshop so that it would help identify what worked and what did not work so well.

Something along: Please provide feedback about the following aspects of the workshop:
- Assistance in setting up my computer
- Delivery of the information during the workshop
- Content of the information during the workshop
- Sequence of activities performed during the workshop
- Social time, food (always important) ...

Some other things that may be worth asking: What was the main motive for deciding to attend the workshop? (is addresses a different aspect that: What made attending this event sound appealing to you?), you may also ask about computer literacy level, programming skills, or highest educational degree.
